A. Reza Taheri
I'm a Data Scientist at Volvo Group Trucks Technology (GTT) working on high-performance, data-driven simulations at scale. Prior to my current role, I was a researcher in the European Union funded Marie Skłodowska-Curie program MORE , an industrial-academic project where I developed cutting-edge transfer learning/reinforcement learning algorithms for automating heavy-duty machines.
Industry
In December 2023, I joined Volvo Group in Gothenburg, Sweden as a Data Scientist.
Between June-November 2023, I was a visiting researcher at Volvo Construction Equipment in Sweden, developing algorithms for autonomous electric wheel loader platforms.
In 2021, I joined Hiab Control Systems R&D in Sweden where I developed control systems for loader cranes using machine learning.
Academia
I have been a part of Tampere University and Aalto University research groups in Finland from 2020 to 2023. My field of research was automation technology with a focus on GPU-accelerated policy learning for robotics and data-driven modeling for mechanical/hydraulic systems.
My background is in simulation, dynamics, optimization, and control. I have a master's degree in space engineering with a thesis on robust and fault-tolerant control systems for satellites, and a bachelor of science degree in aerospace engineering.
